Chef Ritchard Cariaga
Executive Chef
Chef Ritchard Cariaga is the Executive Chef of Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, where he oversees the resort’s entire culinary program, including its signature restaurant, Ka‘ana Kitchen. Born in the Philippines and raised on the island of Kaua‘i, Chef Ritchard blends island heritage with global culinary expertise to create unforgettable dining experiences across the resort.
His culinary career began at the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i, where he quickly rose from line cook to Sous Chef. In 2013, he joined Andaz Maui as Banquet Chef, later becoming Chef de Cuisine. His talent and leadership led him to executive roles at prestigious properties including Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas, Miraval Arizona, and Carmel Valley Ranch in California.
Chef Ritchard returned to Andaz Maui in 2022 as Executive Chef, bringing a refined vision rooted in farm-to-table dining, sustainable sourcing, and culinary innovation. At Ka‘ana Kitchen, he partners with local farmers and purveyors to showcase Hawai‘i’s seasonal bounty through elevated island cuisine. His menus reflect a deep respect for Hawaiian culture, global flavors, and the art of hospitality.
Outside the kitchen, Chef Ritchard enjoys exploring local farmer’s markets, traveling internationally, and spending time with his family. His leadership continues to position Andaz Maui as a top destination for luxury dining in Hawai‘i.
